Performancing Ads

Disclosure: The links in this post are affiliate links for Performancing Ads. That means that if you follow the links and decide to sign up, I might get some commission.

As you can see from my sidebar, I’m trying out Performancing Ads on this and a couple of other blogs.

The idea’s a simple one. You define an ad “region” for your blog or web site, deciding on the number of columns and rows for your ad space (or spaces). You then set a price for ads in those regions. Once you’ve defined your region, set a price and added the code to your site - either by Wordpress widget, or a PHP snippet - you’re site is added to the Marketplace where people can purchase ads on a weekly bases.

You get to keep 60% of the proceeds and Performancing get 40%.

When you’ve got spare ad slots, generic Performancing Ads are shown, or you can choose to fill them with your own ads (perhaps pointing to your other sites). There is also the option of joining the Exchange system. In this case, you gain credits when ads are shown. You upload a 125×125 banner ad which will then get shown on other participating sites when you have enough credits. What’s not clear is how many credits you need, nor how many you get for each impression.

You can sign up as a Publisher, an Advertiser, or both.

It’s all pretty simple and straightforward to set up. I’m going to go with it for a few weeks and see how it works out. If you’re interested, you can get an ad here on Psionmark for the low, low price of only $5 per week - you’d be mad not to! Just click the slot in the sidebar to get started.
